Tornadoes Brightens Chance Of Surviving Relegation

Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna has brightened its chance of surviving relegation with a one nil defeat of Katsina United in match day 18 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played at the late Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna on Wednesday.
Ivory Coast import, Said Dosso scored the only goal of the match from a 25 yard free kick in the 83 minute of the game to give the home team the three maximum points victory.
Speaking during a post match interview, Niger Tornadoes assistant coach, Isiyaku Iliyasu expressed happiness that the match ended in their favour.
He said they were on a four match streak so far, winning two and drew two, adding that they intend to take every match as it come.
Coach Iliyasu said they were committed to salvaging the situation they were in, and expressed optimism that the Tornadoes will escape relegation.
“We are aware of the situation we are in, but we are committed to salvaging the situation. If you look at the table very well you will see that the difference between us and the teams that are ahead of us is not much, we will not relegate by God’s grace,” said the Coach.
Similarly, the scorer of the only goal of the match, Said Dosso expressed happiness that he scored the goal that gave his team the three maximum points.
Dosso who was voted man of the match of the encounter also appreciated his coaches for believing in him and giving him the opportunity.
Niger Tornadoes have played five matches since the change of management about a month ago, lost one, won two and drew two.
The team is currently occupying 11th position with 18 points from 18 matches. The team will play as guest to Sunshine Stars of Akure on Sunday, in match day 19 of the NPFL.
